Mount Tom Again

6.7 miles; exeter, ri

today’s hike was with my usual suspect friends, and it turned out that one of the suspects had an “ulterior motive” for bringing us here. she and her husband put up a new trail sign in order to make clear that the mount tom trail starts from appie crossing, not the check station.

i am happy to say i noticed it right away. it’s quite fine.

one thing i’ve never noticed before for all the many times i’ve hiked this trail is this view of the mount tom ledges from below. it’s quite impressive, and i can’t believe i missed it the other 200 times i hiked through here.

you can find the mount tom trail under arcadia hikes in the hikefinder.
