this is just a quick update. there has been nothing earth-shattering to report, but some baby steps. i’m still 2 weeks from the removal of my cast, but it doesn’t hurt much anymore, and in fact, i have pretty much weaned myself off of the pain pills, if you don’t count an ibuprofen before bedtime. also, i can now shower unassisted! yay me. yay anyone who visits, for that matter…

if you recall from an earlier post, i am using a scooter that i borrowed from a friend to get around, rather than crutches or a walker. but my friend is very clever, and while the basic scooter looks like this:

i’m sure you can see the usefulness of this. i love it. i put all my stuff in it and go all over the place. in fact, i like it so much i kind of wish there was some way i could use it even when i get the cast off and start walking on both feet again. just think how handy that would be! i’d never have to go off in search of my sweatshirt, or my coffee, or my cellphone, or my, well anything!
