i shared some of my hen-of-the-woods bounty with a friend battling cancer, and hiked with her and some of her friends today. nice people—beautiful day.

didn’t find anymore hens, but there were lots of these. i think they’re some sort of Armillaria mushroom, but i’m not sure.
just can’t get over how lovely everything is looking right now.
and there’s a bit more water flowing at stepstone falls today, after the rains of last week, but not a huge amount. you can still cross the river at the falls, but now the soles of your shoes will get a little wet.
you can find the ben utter trail in the hikefinder under arcadia hikes. trailhead, trail map courtesy the ri dem. trail isn’t labled on the map, but it’s the one that follows the falls river ending at stepstone falls.
