Cape San Blas Bike Path & Salinas Park

3.37 miles; Cape San Blas, FL

This was a nice walk with ZERO added rattlesnakes. It was actually hot in the bright sun today, and a great day for a walk. And the view from the pier in Salinas Park was a real treat.

Bike Path

The bike path is a bike path. I don’t think there’s too much more to say about it.

Pier at Salinas Park

Pier at Salinas Park

Technically, Salinas Park is across the street from here. This is Salinas BAYSIDE Park. There’s really not too much to it. There are a few screened-in picnic pavilions and some barbecue grills, even a small smoker; some very tidy bathrooms; a kayak launch; and of course this wonderful long pier that goes out into St. Joseph’s Bay. The Gulf side of the park across the street has a pet-friendly beach.

The end of the pier provided a sweeping view of St. Joseph’s Bay.

Wild Dinner

Wild Dinner

Besides the sweeping bay view, there were some steps at the end of the pier that led down to the water, where you could get a good look at the various denizens of the bay. I saw a lot of wild dinner swimming around and a large hermit crab dragging his conch shell home around with him.

I’m not publishing this route since it starts from where we’re staying. You can find out more about Salinas Park from this Panhandle Traveler page.
