meh. this audubon society property really doesn’t have much to recommend it, unless you want to see the results of extensive beaver activity. oh, and it did have a very pretty hemlock grove. otherwise, it was kind of boring, and had excessive road noise.

beaver activity

there were downed, gnawed, and girdled trees everywhere. i even crossed one section of trail that had fresh mud slapped all over it. never saw a lodge, or an actual beaver, but there was no mistaking the evidence of their activity.

this is a close-up of that tiny orange dot you can see just above the stripped bark on the picture above. just in time for halloween.
