Francis Carter

i have a zillion things to do later today, but i didn’t want to miss a chance to hike, so i zipped over to the francis carter preserve to get in a quick 4-miler. i heard that the national weather service has predicted a much warmer than expected december for new england, which is great, because that means plenty of hiking days.
i was glad to see people have behaved responsibly and not removed the stick preventing this giant rock from rolling and crushing all in its path. other than that, not much happening at the francis carter today. i did get jumped by a very enthusiastic and excited bassett hound, which was weird, because i just don’t associate bassett hounds with excitability or enthusiasm. but the dog and her master were the only souls out for a stroll this fine december morning.
you can find the francis carter preserve in the hikefinder.
