Hopkinton & Westerly Grills

5.91 miles; hopkinton and westerly, ri
i started this hike from the hopkinton side today, because i wasn’t sure the blue trail on the westerly side was open yet.
the white-blazed tomaquag trail starts out alongside two large cornfields, and the late corn is up.
yeah, fungus shot. couldn’t help myself. it’s such a cool color.
the hopkinton side of the grills is a nice workout, with lots of steep ups and downs and a couple of tricksy water crossings before you get to the polly coon bridge to cross over to the westerly side.
well, happy birthday me, the new bridge was up and the trail is open! did a little happy dance on the new deck and everything.
and finally, weird stuff that you see on the trail #387…
you can find the hopkinton and westerly grills in the hikefinder. trailhead, auntie’s trail map.
