.64 miles; Sherborn, MA
Today was a visit to Sherborn, MA, with my friend Marjorie to check out a few “Easy Walks.” This walk is part of Mass. Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary, but is separated from the main property by impassible wetlands. It provided a lovely view of a kettle pond, and a there is also small loop trail (according to the map) that we didn’t explore.
Marjorie is also a blogger, does a wonderful job with photos and descriptions of her “Easy Walks.” Check out her blog, here. You can compare our dueling posts!
We had a beautiful day for our walk today, with bright blue autumn skies and sunshine. The leaves are pretty much past, though we did find this one golden-leaved beech tree still clinging to its bounty.
At this stage of my post, I’d love to point you to a website where you can find out more about this property, and maybe view a map. Sorry, Sherborn has a booklet and they charge $15 for copies. You can find out more and download a map of the Broadmoor Sanctuary here, but warning, North is NOT AT THE TOP OF THE MAP (grrrrrr). As always, click the image above for details about this hike and to download the gps track.
