3.5 miles; coventry, ri
i hiked this with a friend as an exploratory hike. i’ve been on this management area before, but not this part of it. pretty interesting, if fairly beat up by motorized vehicles. it includes a long stretch of the north-south trail, which, in turn, includes the exact midpoint of the north-south trail, which is very cool.
this was an absolutely gorgeous swamp at the beginning of the hike. looked to me as if it was a beaver pond.
these pretty little yellow flowers were in bloom all through here. they’re members of the primrose family.
the other side reads “39 m to ocean.” can’t wait till we pass this marker on our pchc north-south trail hike.
you can just barely make out the gibbous moon over the trees here. i knew this would happen… i can never get a good shot of the moon with my iPhone.
i have added this hike to the hikefinder. trailhead, trail map, courtesy of the rihunts website.
