Ninigret WR

we had torrential rains here yesterday, reminiscent of the 2010 floods, though not quite that bad. i thought maybe ninigret would be dryer than most places i usually hike, and i wasn’t wrong, at least as far as the handicapped-accessible trails were concerned. no such luck, though, on the cross-refuge trail. i managed almost 3 miles anyway.
this was where i was stopped on the cross-refuge trail. not that i didn’t try it… see how there’s the appearance of an “edge” there on the left? i ran out of “edge” about halfway, and ended up getting both feet damp, though not as wet as they would have been if i’d have tried to go through the middle of this. it was more than ankle-deep.
the foster cove loop trail was high and dry, though, as was the paved “charlietown runway” trail.
you can find ninigret wr in the hikefinder.
