PCHC Hike, Vin Gormley Trail

another very sparsely-attended providence county hiking club hike; there were just 2 of us but we had fun anyway. i did some counting, and it was my 10th hike on this property, not counting the very first time i was here in january of 2012, where i got about a mile and a half in and got lost. think i’ll make a point of hiking here once a month. i like it that much.
this is what i guess could be considered the start of the trail. it’s about 2-1/2 miles from where we parked, at what i’ve informally christened the “bucky beaver” parking area on king’s factory road, and it’s the end of the walk through the actual burlingame campground. this early in the campground season they were pretty clean, too.
not far from the bathrooms, the trail converges with the north-south trail. the pchc will be hiking this part at the very end of our 11-part journey, sometime in december.
there was lots in bloom, including the ferns. technically, ferns don’t “bloom,” per se, but whatever.
you can find the vin gormley trail in the hikefinder. trailhead, trail map, which is actually a photo of the map posted in the campground. still haven’t gotten around to making an “auntie” map of this property…
