PCHC North-South Trail, Leg 8

today was a hot, humid day for my first post-ireland hike. this is a really good section of the north-south trail—we were in the woods the whole time, with lots of moderate ups and downs. it’d be perfect in better weather, but the unseasonable heat for this time of year kind of made it uncomfortable.
this section went from the west exeter church on route 165 to the richmond dog park on buttonwoods road, and it was all in arcadia management area. this old cellar hole is right at the beginning, as we were just starting to climb bald hill.
the morning started out very foggy and humid. you can still see some haze over roaring brook pond. and also, as you can see, we were all wearing our best blaze orange for the beginning of hunting season.
another shot of the fog over roaring brook pond.
south of the infamous boulder field, the north-south trail takes a turn to the east to go under route 95, and there was a construction crew just shutting down operations for the day right there. fortunately, not before i got there to take advantage of the port-a-potty.
i have not added this hike to my hikefinder. you can find info on the north-south trail here.
