i thought i’d walk the grills backwards from the way i usually always walk it. very cool! like having a whole new preserve to explore!
here’s the view from “big hill.” i don’t usually go up here; it’s a short out-and-back spur trail, and the view, once you’ve seen it, doesn’t change much. but it’s always nice to pop back for a visit now and again.

best as i can tell, these are some sort of male willow catkins. no idea which variety of willow. they were the only “wildflowers” i saw today.
