The Westerly Grills

i haven’t been here in a while, and so thought i’d visit today. it was a fine day, as have all the days in october been so far. the foliage is still gorgeous. it’s an amazing autumn in new england.
still not finding any more hens, and i have pants covered with tickseed to prove it (lotta time spent off-trail, bushwacking). but there are still some impressive fungi out there.
just before this spot there is a little side trail that goes down to the river from the yellow trail. as i walked along it, i thought something smelled funny, and when i looked down, the trail was covered in guts. a lot of them, so probably a deer was gutted here. not sure if this was humans’ work, but i’m guessing it likely was.
it’s almost impossible not to get some beautiful photos right now. just point your camera and click.
see what i mean?
you can find the grills in the hikefinder.
