cold today… although i think it was actually a few degrees warmer than yesterday, it felt worse because there was no sun. my “usual suspect” friends and i hiked tillinghast pond, or at least, we hiked the coney brook loop and the pond trail. the trail surface was kind of icy in spots, which made for uncomfortable hiking for the two of us who forgot our traction devices. technically, i didn’t forget mine. i lost one of my yak trax. so i only have a yak or a track. not sure. in any case i didn’t think hopping along on one foot was the best strategy.
there were some pretty ice formations on coney brook today.
and doesn’t this tree look like a face with a mouth, with teeth? no?
how about now?
you can find tillinghast pond in the hikefinder. trailhead, trail map
