Vin Gormley Again

whew. did this with a full pack, and in record time. i think i’m ready for my “for reals” trip this weekend (more on this later; check back). also, the wildflowers today were stunning.
i think this is yellow star grass… the latin name is Hypoxis hirsuta, which would imply it is hairy in some part—stems, leaves, flowers. i didn’t notice any especial hairiness. might be wrong on the i.d. i’ll have to look more carefully next time i see it.
and the mountain laurel is just about ready to burst. it will be a glorious show. i should try and get up to the laurel loop in pachaug state forest next week!
