2.14 miles; westerly, ri

ugh. when i noticed that i hadn’t been out since january 17th, i just had to go. we’ve had enough melting that i was pretty sure wilcox park in westerly, ri, had to be clear, and i was right. so 3 times around is a little over 2 miles. better than nothing. and it was a nice day.

along the path

along the path

there were plenty of folks out with their dogs enjoying the warm temperature… it was in the low 50’s today. but in spite of that, there was remarkably little dog poop. win!

park wildlife

park wildlife

this is a statue of the “runaway bunny,” from a children’s book of the same title by margaret wise brown. appropriate for a park attached to a library, i guess.

magnolia? buds

magnolia? buds

buds! even if you don’t feel spring coming, the trees do. i think these are magnolia buds, but i could be wrong. pignut hickory looks a lot like this too. too lazy to go find the plaque on the tree. (wilcox park is an arboretum, and the trees are mostly all labeled.)

i did not add this to the hikefinder. it hardly even feels like much of a walk, much less a hike.
